Getting Away was Never Easier

Another doc-photo series from my dad's hometown Scranton, PA. Except this time, it's from high school when I had stlightly higher ambitions with my photography. This was when my grandmother was still alive, though living poorly. I always made sure to dress down whenever I went to Scranton because everything I brought with me would be saturated with cigarette smoke, so I find these portraits somewhat less-than-flattering. It's still an interesting time capsule to examine- 5 years ago. Now both my Grandmother and Uncle John (as scene in the army-print jumpsuit with my dad) have died and my father sold his childhood home where these portraits were taken. My dad often laments that we will never go back, now that there is no reason to visit.
